Solitaire Turn 3

Draw three cards at a time for a more demanding classic game.

Free · progress saves on this device.

Use the stock pile to draw cards. Select a face-up card and then a target pile to move it. In the tableau, cards build down in alternating colors. Foundations build up from Ace to King. Keyboard shortcuts: U undo, H hint, N new game, R restart.

How to Play Solitaire Turn 3

Solitaire Turn 3 keeps the familiar Klondike board but changes the stock. Each click draws three cards into the waste pile. Only the top card of those three can be moved, so the order of the stock matters much more than it does in Turn 1.

The tableau still builds down in alternating colors, and the foundations still build up by suit from Ace to King. Empty columns still accept only a King. The difference is how much information you have at once and how often you need to recycle the waste to reach a useful card.

When the stock is empty, click it to turn the waste back into a new stock. HiSolitaire allows unlimited passes by default, so you can keep cycling until you find a better line.

Turn 3 Rules and Tips

  • Before drawing, check whether the current waste card can be used first.
  • Prefer moves that reveal face-down cards; the extra information is worth more here.
  • Do not empty a column unless you have a King ready to use it.
  • Keep track of which cards you have already passed; recycling changes the order.
  • Use Undo to compare a foundation move with a tableau move.
Turn 3 mindset: Treat the stock as a limited look at the deck. Every draw is a chance to choose the next three cards, so plan the tableau around what you are likely to see next.

Turn 3 vs Turn 1

Turn 1 is the easier, more forgiving version. Turn 3 is the classic challenge: fewer playable waste cards, more pressure on the stock, and a greater reward for planning several moves ahead. If you are still learning the rules, start with Solitaire Turn 1.

Both modes share the same foundations and tableau rules. The Solitaire rules guide explains the full setup, and the scoring guide covers how points change between modes.

Who Turn 3 is for

Turn 3 is for players who already know Klondike and want a harder, more strategic deal. It is also the version many long-time Solitaire players associate with the classic desktop game. If you want a quick, relaxed round, Turn 1 is usually the better choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Solitaire Turn 3?

Solitaire Turn 3 is Klondike with three cards drawn from the stock at once. Only the top card of the three is playable, so the mode demands more planning than Turn 1.

Is Turn 3 harder than Turn 1?

Yes. Turn 3 hides more of the stock and gives you fewer chances to use each card. The same deal is usually harder to win in Turn 3.

Can I recycle the waste pile in Turn 3?

Yes. HiSolitaire allows unlimited passes by default. Click the empty stock to recycle the waste and continue.

Should I use Hint in Turn 3?

Hints are useful when several moves look reasonable. The hint highlights a legal move, but you still choose whether to take it.

Does Turn 3 save my progress?

Yes. The current deal, moves and elapsed time are saved locally, so you can close the tab and continue later on the same device.
